I’m one of those lucky people who gets to walk to work. In fact, I walk a lot of places nowadays (walking is the new fixie bike — I’m starting the trend right now!).
You know the only thing that sucks about walking downtown in San Jose?
–the stabbings? the homeless people? that you’re seriously reconsidering the fact that you decided to wear heels because of said homeless and stabbings?–
NO. It’s people singing Adele in their cars at 110% full volume. Look people, Adele’s 21 album came out almost two years ago. Get some new “I feel sorry for myself” music already. You’ve never set fire to the rain, and the only turning table you’ve ever seen is a lazy susan, so shut the hell up. This is rush hour, not happy hour; try to drive safely and stop closing your eyes as you wail “NEVER MIND I’LL FIND SOMEONE LIKE YOOOOOOUUUUUU!” Nobody likes you. Not even your radio. Not even your mom’s radio.
So now that I’ve talked some garbage about how obnoxious you are, and you *might* be feeling kinda guilty, let’s give you a parting gift shall we? If you are a huge lover of Adele here is a short list, from my iPod, of songs that you may like. They’re kinda like Adele, but now you have new lyrics to learn, and maybe for a brief moment I can have some peace while you study the lyrics on your iPhone while driving.
Pixie Lot
Emeli Sande
Nicole Scherzinger (I know this one is a bit out on a limb, but I had to take the risk)
Jessie J
Alex Clare
So I hope this has inspired you to take Adele off repeat and maybe integrate some new music in between “Rumor Has It” and “Rolling in the Deep.”
If not you can always just start listening to Adele cover tracks like this one:
See, I understand baby steps.
